Full Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including urgent care and occupational health. This position requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations, including taking medical histories and performing physical examinations.
- Manage airway procedures and assist in emergency situations as needed.
- Provide urgent care services, including diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses and injuries.
- Perform suturing and other minor surgical procedures as required.
- Document patient encounters accurately in medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Engage in health coaching to promote wellness and preventive care among patients.
- Participate in research initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and advancing medical knowledge.
- Utilize neonatal ventilators when caring for newborns requiring respiratory support.
- Ensure adherence to MDS (Minimum Data Set) standards in relevant patient assessments.
ExperienceCandidates should possess the following qualifications:
- A Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Previous experience in a hospital or urgent care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on patient education.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
