PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/NURSE PRACTITIONER
Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Associates, P.C.’s Omaha group, is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team and to provide quality healthcare to our established patients.
We are considering part-time and full-time candidates for this position. Our clinics operate Monday through Friday, and Saturday mornings. Scheduled shifts are based upon local Omaha area clinic needs, as well as outreach clinic scheduling throughout eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa. AAIA pays travel stipends and mileage for working outreach clinics.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide medical care to patients in the clinic setting, including collection of relevant patient history, comprehensive physical assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Order/interpret laboratory work, breathing tests, skin tests, and radiographic images to determine appropriate treatment for the patient
- Perform food and medication challenges in the office
- Assess and provide treatment of acute episodes of anaphylaxis
- Provide patient with appropriate education, discharge, and follow-up instructions
- Consult with physician as needed
- Maintain adherence to HIPAA, organizational, and other entities’ compliance guidelines Maintain detailed computer/practice management software knowledge, related to the position
- Attend CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, OIG, and other training programs as required
- Participate in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations
- Follow and understand the mission, vision, core values, standards of conduct and behavior, and all other company policies/procedures
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to make independent decisions about patient care
- Experience diagnosing and treating patients
- Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
- Knowledge of practice management and word processing software
- Great communication skills with patients, and internal/external individuals
- Neat, professional appearance
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner degree from accredited college or university
- Certification as a PA or NP
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Nebraska/Iowa (obtain Iowa license)
- EHR/EMR proficiency
- Work experience of at least one year as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in a primary care or urgent care setting (allergy background helpful)
- BLS/CPR certified
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires intermittent physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching as well as lifting. The employee may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job will require exposure to patient elements in a clinical setting. This role routinely uses medical equipment and standard office equipment.

- Monday to Friday (full-time APPs typically have one scheduled weekday off per two-week period)
- Providers rotate Saturday morning clinic coverage
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Nurse Practitioner License – Required

- Physician Assistant License – Required
- Certification in profession is preferred
