Job Title: Part-Time Physician Assistant – Interventional Pain Practice
Location: Covina, CA
Position Type: Part-Time
About Us: Join our reputable and patient-centered Interventional Pain Private Practice in Covina, CA. We specialize in providing comprehensive, minimally invasive pain management solutions to improve the quality of life for our patients. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Evaluations: Conduct thorough evaluations of new and follow-up patients, taking detailed medical histories and performing physical exams.
- Medication Management: Prescribe pain management medications and therapeutic modalities tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Diagnostic Testing: Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including MRI, X-rays, and lab tests, to assess and monitor patient progress.
- Urine Drug Screening: Order and review routine urine-drug screens in accordance with best practices and patient care protocols.
- Interventional Pain Procedures: Identify patients who would benefit from ultrasound-guided and fluoroscopic-guided injections, as well as more advanced minimally invasive interventional procedures.
- Specialist Referrals: Refer patients to appropriate surgical specialists, such as spine and orthopedic surgeons, for further surgical evaluation as needed.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on their pain management plan, including medication instructions, procedural expectations, and lifestyle modifications.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Physician Assistant in the state of California.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Previous experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or related fields is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Ability to work independently while providing high-quality patient care.
