Job Summary: AARC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. In this role, you will provide LGBTQ+ primary care and HIV specialty care. This will include general primary care, PrEP/PEP, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, adult gender affirming care, HIV management and rapid start as well as STI diagnosis and treatment. You do not need to be knowledgeable in all areas, but the more you are comfortable with the better. Our Medical Director can provide additional training to help you feel more confident in the other areas.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive primary care, including patient exams, diagnosis, treatment, and medication prescription
- Greet patients and gather information about their medical history and current symptoms
- Perform physical exam to new and established patients
- Focused on outpatient primary care treatment plans and follow ups
- Order diagnostic testing, such as bloodwork and imaging tests
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Refer patients to specialist as needed
- Supervised by Medical Director
Additional Expectations:
- Comfortable with providing specialty areas mentioned or willing to undergo training.
- Adherence to grant funding standards of care (Ryan White Federal and State).
- Spanish language proficiency is beneficial but not required
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Attentive and detailed
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with current standards of care, patient privacy regulations and infection control practices
- Clinical skills, including the ability to perform a physical exam
- Certified Physician Assistant with an active Physician Assistant License in Texas.
- Respectful and compassionate to LGBTQ+ community
Education & Experience:
- NCCPA certified
- Master’s degree level from an accredited institution
- Current Texas Physician Assistant License
- Experience as a Physician Assistant
- Current DEA license
- Two years’ experience working in a primary care setting preferred

- Regular schedule Monday to Friday, 8AM – 4:30PM
