Description
The mission of the Purchase College Health Services is to provide sensitive, comprehensive health care for all matriculated students at Purchase College. This mission is achieved through a system of high-quality evaluation, treatment, and referral services by providing models for healthy living through preventative care and health education to help ensure student success. Health Services is dedicated to maintaining a high standard of patient care through ongoing educational support of the health service staff and collaboration with other college departments in an effort to address health issues in the context of the total college experience. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner position provides acute and chronic medical care and health education for the students of Purchase College. The job includes primary care and acute care for the college-aged young adult population. The medical assessments and management include but are not limited to: routine physical exams; acute care for URIs and flu-like illness; allergic reactions; orthopedic injuries; routine and symptomatic gynecologic evaluation; diagnosis and management of STIs; contraceptive management; LGBTQ+ care; concussions; acute asthma and respiratory concerns; GI illness; and basic dermatology. The operating hours of the College require the schedule for this position to be Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm from the date of hire 08/19/2024 through 05/16/2025; there is no obligation during the winter break. The initial review of applicants will begin on or about August 6, 2024.

Qualifications
Required: Master’s Degree New York State licensure for applicable title Current certification by title governing body Experience in primary care, including GYN; adolescent or college health preferred Knowledge of electronic medical records (Medicat preferred)
