Location: Regional Hand Center, California’s Central Valley
Job Summary: Regional Hand Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team of upper extremity care specialists. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive healthcare services under the supervision of our experienced surgeons, Randi A. Galli, M.D., Ricardo Avena, M.D., and Isobel Santos, M.D. The PA/NP will play a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with upper extremity injuries and conditions, ensuring a high standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests.
- Assist in surgical procedures and provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and participate in patient education.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, suturing, and wound care.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Assist in managing and coordinating patient flow within the clinic to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current Physician Assistant licensure or Nurse Practitioner certification in the state of California.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for PAs or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) for NPs.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in orthopedics, hand surgery, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
