Assistant or Associate Professor of Physician Assistant Studies: Clinical Coordinator
Chatham University is welcoming applicants for Principal Faculty – Assistant/Associate Professor of Physician Assistant Studies (Professional Track): Clinical Coordinator position.
The Clinical Coordinator (CC), under the direct supervision of the Program Director (PD) and Associate Director for Clinical Education, is responsible for the joint coordination and implementation of all clinical education activities with the Physician Assistant Program. The Clinical Coordinator holds a professional faculty appointment and is required to teach and advise students in the MPAS program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional/Clinical Responsibilities
- Provides classroom instruction and student learning assessment as directed by the PD.
- Serve as an academic and clinical advisor for students in the MPAS program.
- Contribute to the development of clinical education curriculum including the preparation of course syllabi, objectives, and outlines.
- Ensure that the clinical education curriculum complies with accreditation and institutional/program requirements.
- Assist in the development, evaluation, review, and revision of the clinical curricula.
- Perform clinical site activities, including student scheduling, site coordination, site evaluation, site development, and site visits in cooperation with the Associate Director of Clinical Education and the other members of the clinical faculty.
- Contribute to the preparation and implementation of the didactic curriculum as assigned by the PD.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Initiate contacts with and cultivate new clinical training sites including preparation of affiliation agreements and contracts.
- Maintain relationship with existing clinical training sites.
- Help to maintain the clinical site database on EXXAT.
- Contribute to the analysis of preceptor and student evaluations and reporting of clinical education outcomes.
- Contribute to accreditation review, assessment, and implementation of programmatic changes on an ongoing basis.
- Contribute to strategic and operations planning to advance the MPAS program and the University mission.
- Assist with preparation of documents and reports needed for ARC-PA accreditation and re-accreditation.
Professional Responsibilities
- Actively pursue ongoing professional development as required for maintaining professional qualifications including professional certifications and/or licenses required by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and the Pennsylvania’s State Board of Medicine.
- Participate in university and professional committees as directed by the PD or Dean, and as outlined in the Faculty Manual.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of clinical experience after graduation.
- Certification in area of expertise (NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants/Associates).
