Full Job Description

– The Division of Pulmonary Critical Care atRichmond Pulmonary Medicine in Staten Island, New York is currently seeking a Physician Assistant to provide high-level pulmonary services in the outpatient setting. We are seeking a highly capable and compassionate Physician’s Assistant to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals in the field of pulmonology. As a pulmonologist, I understand the importance of having a skilled and efficient assistant who can effectively multitask and interface with patients. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and a genuine dedication to providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities:

– Patient Care: Provide comprehensive care to patients by conducting initial assessments, performing physical examinations, and obtaining medical histories. Collaborate with the pulmonologist to develop and implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and educate patients on their conditions and prescribed treatments.

– Multitasking: Efficiently manage various administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and coordinating referrals to other specialists or diagnostic tests. Prioritize tasks and ensure that all patient-related responsibilities are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

– Diagnostic Procedures: Assist with various diagnostic procedures, including Spirometry’s, Pulmonary function tests, and sleep studies. Prepare and maintain equipment, monitor patient vitals during procedures, and provide necessary support to the pulmonologist.

– Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on respiratory health, disease management, and preventive measures. Clearly communicate complex medical information in a compassionate and understandable manner, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.

– Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with the pulmonologist, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care. Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, actively participating in discussions, case reviews, and professional development opportunities.

Training/License:

– Certified Physician’s Assistant (PA-C) with a valid state license.

– Bachelor’s or master’s degree in physician assistant studies or a related field.

– Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in pulmonology or a related specialty.

– Strong multitasking abilities with excellent time management skills.

– Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and friendly demeanor.

– Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and other medical software systems.

– Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $100,575.98 – $121,123.76 per year

Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
