Full Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient safety and quality in addition to possessing excellent clinical and customer service skills. We search for providers who share our passion for providing quality pediatric care when it matters most. Interested candidates should feel comfortable with diagnosing and managing common pediatric illnesses and injuries. Routine procedures may include interpreting simple x-rays, suturing/gluing/stapling minor lacerations, draining small skin abscesses and managing respiratory illnesses among other clinical responsibilities.
Primary Job Duties
- Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including identification of urgent versus emergent presentation.
- Select, order, perform and interpret tests, analyses and diagnostic images to provide information on patient condition and augment physical findings.
- Analyze reports and findings of tests to diagnose patients.
- Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat and prevent illness and injury.
- Perform procedures including laceration repair, and evaluation of sprains and fractures.
- Provide clear communication to patients and families regarding physical exam findings, test results, treatment plan, and expected course of illness/injury.
- Document full detailed patient encounter in electronic medical record.
Job qualifications:
- State and federal license requirements.
- Maintain professional, clean appearance and attire.
- Understanding of medical billing and coding.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations including OSHA, HIPPA, blood borne pathogens and others.
- Competent with common PC applications including Internet, E-mail, and Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly become fluent in the practice’s electronic medical record (Cerner)
- Maintain current BLS and PALS certification.
