Introduction:

SXR Health (also known as PatriotMed) is multi-state provider specializing in disability evaluations for Veterans. We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Buffalo, NY area. We will consider both full-time and part-time candidates.

Overview of the Position:

Job Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Location: Buffalo, NY

Hours & Schedule: Monday – Friday (0800 – 1700)

Employment Arrangement: Flexible (Full-Time & Part-Time Available)

Travel Required: None

Salary / Hourly Rate:

  • Full-Time: $140,000–$180,000 annually (based on experience)
  • Part-Time: $70-105 per hour (based on experience)

Benefits (for Full-Time Candidates): Med/Dent/Vis, PTO/Sick, Malpractice Coverage

Sign-On Bonus / Relocation Offer: Negotiable sign-on bonus or relocation assistance

On Call Required: No on-call requirements

Patient Load: 6–8 patients per day (approximately 30 minutes with each patient)

Job Summary:

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with SXR Health, you will conduct disability evaluations for Veterans in a non-treatment capacity. You will not determine disability ratings but will focus on performing detailed assessments and preparing evaluation reports.

No prior experience performing disability evaluations is required. We will provide and pay for thorough onboarding and training.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough disability evaluations for Veterans, reviewing their medical history and performing physical exams
  • Document findings and prepare comprehensive reports based on evaluation outcomes
  • Collaborate with onsite support staff for smooth and efficient evaluations
  • Order onsite diagnostic services, including X-rays, as necessary
  • Maintain accurate and compliant medical records
  • Manage scheduled appointments within clinic operational hours

Prerequisites / License & Certification Requirements:

  • Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
  • Completion of US-based NP/PA Program (excluding Puerto Rico)
  • Ability to work independently in a non-treatment setting
  • Strong attention to detail and professionalism when evaluating Veterans’ health
  • Preferred, but not required – Specialization or experience in one or more of the following: Emergency Medicine, Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Primary Care, Sports Medicine, or Urgent Care
