Full Job Description

Overview:

Those who receive outpatient medical and surgical care will remember your expertise and compassion long after they leave the clinic. The physicians you help will rely on your professionalism and patient-focused attention. Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Physician Assistant’s Supervising Physician or Designated Agent, provides medical and surgical services to patients of the assigned clinic. Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope of practice as a dependent medical practitioner. This job does not involve inpatient care responsibilities, yet the job may require evening and weekend work hours.

Qualifications:

Education: Requires Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by any of the following accrediting bodies:

Committee on Allied Health, Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association (CAHEA); Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP); Accreditation Review Commission on the Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).

Experience:
Requires experience in direct patient management in a Primary Care setting.
Knowledge of professional medical practice and care to provide/ evaluate patient care. Requires skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of medicine to provide on-going patient care.
Excellent communication skills required (both verbal and written).
Basic computer skills proficiency required to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
Knowledge of acute and chronic disease states, administration and prescription of medications, and delivery of physical care following treatment plan.

Licensure:

Current applicable state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant.
Current BLS certification preferred.
Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants.
Must submit information necessary to complete a National Practitioner Data Base search and meet Legacy’s standards for results.

Working Conditions: Risk of exposure to blood and body fluids . Must be able to lift push pull 20 40 pounds. Risk of exposure to droplet and contact pathogens particles N95 PAPR required for all COVID 19 patients except for AGP s Annual E required .
