Montgomery Heart and Wellness (MHW) was founded in 1997 as Houston Cardiac Association. Operating out of a state-of-the-art medical facility in Houston, Texas, MHW health interventions utilize advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tools to evaluate many individuals with advanced chronic illnesses. MHW’s holistic approach has been scientifically validated and shown to effectively control serious cardiovascular disease and other chronic illnesses.

The Opportunity:

Montgomery Heart and Wellness is looking for a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join their team. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing primary care services to patients in the clinic setting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and evaluate patients with complex cardiovascular and general medical illnesses.
  • Build a continuity care clinical practice within the general practice.
  • Perform general wellness counseling to patients.
  • Support existing wellness programs.
  • Rotate with current team in online community support and wellness coaching programs.
  • Assist with the management of the following integrative therapies:
    • Intravenous Ozone Treatments
    • Infrared Sauna Therapy
    • External Counter pulsation Therapy
    • Intravenous Vitamin Infusion Therapy
    • Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
  • Assist with the prescription of plant-based nutritional meal plans.
  • Must fully understand the benefits of and promote a raw and/or minimally processed plant-based nutritional plan.
  • Learn and maintain proficiency in the following areas:
    • Interpretation of 12-lead ECGs
    • Interpretation of Treadmill Stress Tests
    • Interpretation of Echocardiograms
    • Interpretation of Vascular Studies
    • Management of External Counter pulsation (ECP) Patients

Desired Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure
  • Current Nurse Practitioner certification in specialty area
  • Current AGPCNP-BC, FNP-BC, CNOR/CRNFA (if applicable) certification
  • Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); PALS provider card as required by department and facility
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Eligible for hospital privileges
  • Minimum of 1-5 years OR clinical preoperative experience. 2 years’ experience in the Nurse Practitioner role preferred.
