Michigan Neurology Associates, P.C. is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our practice. Practitioners will assist physicians in providing excellent care in an out-patient setting to patients with large variety of cognitive neurological disorders.

Responsibilities include patient evaluation, writing orders, and follow up and limited in patient care. 1. Assess, examine and diagnose patients. 2. Rapidly formulate a differential diagnosis from assessment in an out-patient setting. 3. Work collaboratively with physician and seek direction and advice on any complex issues. 4. Identify and direct complex cases to physician for case handling and disposition. 5. Prescribe medications and treatment modalities to treat or cure low to moderate acuity conditions. 6. Develop treatment plans and actualize them with the team and staff. 7. Perform other duties as assigned by Team MD/preceptor and under the supervision of the preceptor MD. 8. Provide guidance to nursing personnel on treatment plans and care coordination.

Qualifications

  • License or Certification: – Certification and licensure or ability to obtain licensure in the state of Michigan. CPR/BLS certification required. DEA registration number as appropriate.
  • Education Requirements: – Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Experience in Neurology a plus. Skills and Abilities: Strong clinical skills including but not limited to the ability to conduct History and Physicals, patient assessment, evaluation treatment planning and care , diagnosis and follow up of assigned patients, preventive pre and post operative care in both in and out-patient settings. In addition, strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
