    Harborview Medical Center Inpatient Neurology APP (ARNP; Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant) The current opening is for a 100% FTE, full-time day shift position with potential for some night coverage in future. The APP provides clinical expertise to patients and their families, is a resource person for health care providers, and participates in research and teaching programs. Work is performed 7 days a week with general independence and decision-making responsibility under the general guidance of the attending physicians, chief resident and department Nurse Manager. Guidelines include general policy procedures and practice guidelines established by the department and Harborview Medical Center, as well as appropriate professional and technical manuals.   • Nurse Practitioner:
  • Masters or Doctorate Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
  • AND Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges
  • AND National certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Physician Assistant:
  • Licensure as a Physician’s Assistant in the State of Washington
  • AND national certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA)
  • BLS/ACLS certification required
  • Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions.
