Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant

Well-established Physician-owned Central Valley California private practice is seeking a full-time Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant to join our team. The Clinical practice includes two robust free standing Imaging centers as well as covering local hospitals. Our main hospital is a very busy comprehensive stroke center, the primary referral hospital in the region, as well as a busy Trauma Center.

Our group of physicians includes radiologists with IR, NIR, Neuro, MSK, Body Imaging, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, 4 fellowship trained Interventional Radiologists and 3 Neuro Interventional Radiologist. The IR service includes a wide array of advanced procedures for treatment of PAD, venous disease, IR oncology (Y-90), kyphoplasty, GI/GU disease. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated, hard-working individual who wants to advance their skills.

We are located in the Northern California Central Valley near the San Francisco Bay Area, but with dramatically lower cost of living. The climate is great for outdoor lifestyles with a short drive to local skiing, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Napa Valley wine country, San Francisco, and the beaches of Santa Cruz and Monterey. Some of the physicians live in the Central Valley, while others live in the San Francisco Bay Area with an easy reverse commute.

Job Description

Performs a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and outcome evaluation. Participates in performance improvement, research, and educational activities.

Job Responsibility

  • Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
  • Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.
  • Performs daily patient rounds.
  • Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
  • Interprets laboratory and test results.
  • Confers with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
  • Upon discharge, notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and any referrals on patient charts.
  • Informs patients of the necessary post-discharge care instructions.
  • Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here but considered related are not essential functions.

Job Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs ARC-PA) program, required.
  • Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the California State Department of Education, required.
  • Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required.
  • Current BLS certification, required.

The Physician group is willing to train the right candidate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $116,133.00 – $134,650.00 per year
