Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our team in a busy Ophthalmology practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in ophthalmic care and a desire to grow in this specialty. You will work closely with our ophthalmologist and optometrist to provide high-quality eye care, assist patient management, and support various clinical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams and assessments under the supervision of an ophthalmologist.
- Assist in diagnosing and treating a wide range of eye conditions.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgery patients.
- Educate patients on eye care, post-surgical recovery, and medication usage.
- Assist with in-office procedures.
- Coordinate patient care with ophthalmologist, optometrists, and other healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in patient follow-ups, including reviewing diagnostic tests and imaging.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in techniques in ophthalmology to provide evidence-based care.
Qualifications:
- Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) and active state license to practice as PA, or the ability to obtain state license before starting with practice.
- Completion of an accredited PA program.
- Previous experience or strong interest in ophthalmology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment.
