OverviewMusic City Foot and Wound is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our traveling podiatry and wound care team. In this role, you will work closely with podiatrists and an APP to deliver high-quality foot and wound care to residents in rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, prison system and assistive living communities throughout the middle Tennessee region. You will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a range of podiatric conditions, with a focus on wound management and routine foot care.

Key Responsibilities– Conduct initial patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations in collaboration with supervising podiatrists.

– Perform routine foot care including Diabetic foot exams, nail trims and callous removals, wound debridement, and other minor podiatric procedures, as necessary, within nursing home facilities.

– Assist podiatrists in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle conditions, including diabetic foot care, ulcers, infections, and other podiatric ailments.

– Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, coordinating with facility staff and caregivers as needed.

– Educate patients and caregivers on proper foot care techniques, wound prevention, and foot health maintenance.

– Document patient interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory and company standards.

– Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as appropriate, under the supervision of a podiatrist.

– Travel to facilities listed above throughout middle Tennessee to provide care, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.

– Maintain compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations, as well as company policies and protocols.

– Stay current with advancements in podiatric care and wound management through continuing education.

Qualifications– Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

– Current Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification.

– Active Tennessee state licensure as a PA in good standing.

– Experience in podiatry, wound care, geriatrics, or related fields preferred but not required.

– Strong clinical skills, with an emphasis on wound care and routine podiatric procedures.

– Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with facility staff.

– Willingness to travel across Middle Tennessee with a valid driver’s license.

– Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
