Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Novant Health Southern Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. The Physician Assistant will work closely with our orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine specialists to provide comprehensive care, including diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and follow-up care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
- Assist in diagnosing and managing a wide range of orthopedic and sports medicine conditions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays and MRIs.
- Assist in surgical procedures and provide pre- and post-operative care.
- Educate patients on their conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Participate in patient follow-up care and monitor progress.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Stay current with advancements in orthopedic and sports medicine to provide evidence-based care.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant in [State].
- Previous experience in orthopedic or sports medicine is preferred, but not required.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
