Job Title: Physician Assistant II – OR-Robotics

Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD Employment Type: Full-Time Department: Operating Room – Robotics

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant II to join our OR-Robotics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical procedures, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic surgical environment. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care before, during, and after robotic surgeries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and management of the surgical patient in the OR, ensuring all necessary equipment and instruments are available for robotic procedures.
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments and provide education to patients and their families regarding the surgical process and recovery.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement perioperative care plans.
  • Assist in robotic-assisted surgeries, providing support to the surgeon as needed.
  • Monitor patients during surgery and throughout the recovery process, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document surgical procedures and patient care accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the advancement of the Robotics Program.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • State licensure as a Physician Assistant in Maryland.
  • Previous experience in a surgical or OR setting preferred, with a focus on robotics or minimally invasive techniques.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
