This position is located at Womack Army Medical Center, Department of Medicine, Neurology Services, Ft. Liberty, NC.
Womack is located in Fayetteville, Fort Liberty which is 2 hours from the beach and 5 hours from the Appalachian Mountains with easy access to I-95 and all points north and south. This central North Carolina location enjoys seasonably palatable weather year-round. Responsibilities:
As a Physician Assistant (Neurology) your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing Neurology services to inpatients and outpatients within the community under the direction of a Physician.
- Examining, diagnosing and treating walk-in and clinic appointment patients with Neurological disorders.
- Prescribing medication for common neurological diseases and common neurological disorders including headache syndrome.
- Ordering, collecting, and performing appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures and studies including, but not limited to, blood and tissue specimens.
- Ordering and performing diagnostic studies such as electromyography (EMG), electrocardiograms, compartment pressure measurements, and examinations including special x-ray examinations, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and bone scans.
Qualifications:
US Citizenship required .
At least one year of experience as a certified physician assistant providing Neurology services.
Successful completion of the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; must maintain status as a certified physician assistant, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education (CME) and re-certification.
Graduation from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARCPA), or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the Secretary, U.S. Department of Education.
Must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico or a territory of the U.S.
