Lighthouse Behavioral Health Solutions (LBHS) provides individual, outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, residential, psychiatric services, and medication assisted treatment for mental health and substance abuse treatment needs. We are a treatment facility that prides itself in a welcoming and compassionate approach to substance use and mental health treatment. Position: Physician Assistant – Residential Withdrawal Management

Job Summary: To ensure the delivery of high-quality medical care in the residential withdrawal management (RWM) setting, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as CARF standards of care; providing general medical care and directing nurses and supportive staff in the treatment of clients experiencing withdrawal from substances of misuse. This position reports to the Medical Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform comprehensive medical examination of clients in (RWM) when referred by the client’s managing psychiatric provider.
  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses.
  • Prescribe and order all necessary medications, treatments, laboratory studies or testing.
  • Monitor client health progress, communicating updates effectively to members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Evaluate outcomes of care delivered to patients and initiates changes in the treatment approach accordingly.
  • May provide supervision and guidance to nursing or ancillary staff.
  • Remain informed about current evidence-based practice in the fields of primary care and internal medicine.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience/Certifications:

  • Valid and current state physician assistant license
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, or general medical hospital setting
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and other applicable standards for clinical practice in assigned area(s)
  • Completion of a Minimum of 24 Hours of Buprenorphine Training via ASAM or Providers Clinical Support System (PCSS)
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurance.
  • Must pass BCI check, all corporate compliance checks, and employment drug screen

Desired Experience/Certifications:

Addiction experience preferred
