Full Job Description

Position Available: Part-Time PA-C in Pain Management

Our established Pain Management group is seeking a Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our team. This part-time role involves coordinating care for patients in an outpatient setting and ensuring continuity of care across a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Evaluation and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with acute and chronic pain, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic assessments.
  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Create individualized pain management plans based on patient assessments and evidence-based practices. Adjust treatment plans as needed to optimize patient outcomes including interventional and non-interventional care. A detailed understanding of musculoskeletal disorders and anatomy is required.
  • Medication Management: Prescribe, manage, and monitor medications for pain relief. Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and best practices for medication safety.
  • Patient Education: Provide education to patients and their families regarding pain management strategies, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques. Empower patients to actively participate in their own care.
  • Coordination of Care: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, physical therapists, and psychologists, to deliver comprehensive and integrated care. Facilitate referrals to specialists as needed.
  • Monitoring and Follow-Up: Monitor patient progress and response to treatments through regular follow-up visits, reassessments, and modifications to the treatment plan as necessary.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Ensure adherence to institutional policies and protocols.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits to enhance patient care and optimize clinical outcomes.
  • Patient Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate, addressing any concerns or issues related to pain management and ensuring that patients receive respectful and compassionate care.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with advances in pain management and maintain professional licensure and certifications. Engage in continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of the musculoskeletal system, with a focus on the cervical and lumbar spine.
  • Experience in pain management is preferred but not required.
  • Current PA-C licensure in Pennsylvania is required.
