Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician’s Assistant (PA) to join our team at Mile High Recovery Center, a leading facility specializing in substance use and mental health treatment. The PA will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality medical care, managing patient health, and contributing to the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment and Care: Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including medical histories, physical examinations, and mental health evaluations. Provide comprehensive care and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician and multidisciplinary team.
- Medical Management: Diagnose and treat common medical conditions, manage acute and chronic illnesses, and prescribe medications as appropriate. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments based on clinical response and emerging needs.
- Substance Use Disorder Management: Utilize evidence-based practices to manage and treat substance use disorders. Implement detoxification protocols, medication-assisted treatments, and relapse prevention strategies.
- Mental Health Support: Provide mental health evaluations and treatments, including managing symptoms of psychiatric disorders. Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists to ensure integrated care.
- Patient Education and Support: Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies. Offer emotional support and guidance throughout the treatment process.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and social workers, to provide holistic care. Participate in team meetings and case conferences.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond to and manage emergency situations, including psychiatric crises and medical emergencies. Provide stabilization and facilitate appropriate referrals or transfers when necessary.
- Continuing Education and Training: Stay current with advances in medical and mental health treatment practices. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education and Certification: Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Valid PA license in Colorado.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in substance use and mental health treatment settings. Experience with addiction medicine and psychiatric care is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a compassionate approach to patient care. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Working Conditions:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
