Full Job Description

Southwest Sports and Spine is seeking a full-time certified, energetic, Physician Assistant Certified wanted to join a well established and quickly growing Interventional Pain Management Practice with offices located in Tucson.

The position is responsible for new patient evaluations, reevaluations, prescription management, ordering procedures, post procedure management, trigger point injections with and without ultrasound.

Position hours are from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday, No weekends, no call

  • The Physician Assistant is responsible for diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients including: complete medical history, conducting physicals, establishing diagnosis through tests, prescribing medications, and formulating treatment plans. Provides follow-up treatments and care to patients in accordance with protocols established by physicians. The position will also have the responsibility for performing iovera procedures and NCV/EMG’s.
  • Determines appropriate level of E/M coding after each visit and closes encounters.

  • Ordering procedures and post procedure management
  • Trigger points with and without Ultrasound
  • Responds to all administrative tasks assigned in EHR including patient cases, results, refills, and phone messages.
  • Reviews diagnostic studies, labs and communicates results with patients.
  • Understanding x-ray, MRI and diagnostic reports
  • Complies with all prescriptive authority guidelines from the Arizona Medical Board.
  • Complies with the use of Prescriptive Monitoring Program (PMP) for schedule III-V drug
  • Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Must also hold current and unrestricted License by Arizona State Board of Physician Assistants.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience as physician assistant in Orthopaedic, Spine or related field.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with patients and staff members, must be able to create and maintain positive rapport with patients, physicians, and other staff members.
  • Knowledge of general computer systems is a must, word and excel a plus..
  • Other duties to be assigned as necessary and may vary at times, as needed by your immediate supervisor or as directed by the company

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
