Cardiac Critical Care Advanced Practice Opportunity

Position Highlights –

  • Join our cardiac surgical team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield MA providing care to our preoperative and post-operative patients. The team consists of 9 experienced APPs who work closely with a cardiac surgical intensivist, 5 cardiac surgeons, invasive cardiologists and heart failure attendings to provide outstanding inpatient care.
  • Primary responsibilities include post-op care of surgical patients in the ICU and step-down units across their entire episode of care. Busy traditional cardiac surgical program providing the full gamut of surgical procedures, robust mechanical circulatory support program with durable implantable ventricular assist devices and temporary circulatory support platforms including ECMO.
  • Enjoy a high level of autonomy with 24/7/365 support from intensivists and surgeons. We are dedicated to providing a good balance between work and life. Our team is also able to provide excellent mentorship to those early in their careers.
  • This is a part-time 0.6 FTE (24 hour) position consisting of 12hour shifts and a mix of days, nights, weekend and holidays.

Qualifications: BC Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, experience in cardiac critical care is preferred. The successful APP will be energetic, highly motivated and ideally have previous experience in critical care of cardiac surgical patients.
