Work Schedule :
100% FTE, Monday-Friday 8-hour shifts with a one-in-four Sunday weekend rotation.
As an Advanced Practice Provider, you’ll play an integral role on our inpatient care team by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to:
- Provide neurological services including general neurology, stroke, and neurology consults to adult inpatients at University Hospital. You will care for patients with diagnoses across the spectrum of neurological disorders including, but not limited to: stroke, seizures, epilepsy, mental status changes, neuromuscular disorders, MS, headache and movement disorders.
- Work in collaboration with faculty, residents, fellows, surgeons, and nursing staff to provide on-going patient care and management.
- Perform routine clinical procedures independently as outlined in practice agreements/scope of practice including: VNS/DBS reprogramming back-up and Lumbar punctures.
Education :
Minimum –
If Nurse Practitioner:
Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.
If Physician Assistant:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.
Licenses and Certifications :
Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure
If Nurse Practitioner*:
- Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
- Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Adult/Geriatric Acute Care.
If Physician Assistant*:
- Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
- Active PA board certification
All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
*Active license or eligibility to obtain active licensure in state of practice. This may include licensing in Wisconsin and other state(s) of practice.
