Pediatric Medical Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and energetic Medical Assistant to join our busy pediatric practice. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional care to children and their families in a welcoming, fast-paced environment. We are happy to train motivated candidates who are eager to learn and grow in pediatric healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers with patient care in a busy pediatric office
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR)
  • Administer childhood immunizations and other medications as directed
  • Assist with in-office medical procedures
  • Promote efficient patient flow by communicating effectively with providers, clinical staff, and families
  • Respond courteously to questions from patients, parents, visitors, and prospective patients
  • Perform front office duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and other administrative tasks
  • Maintain adequate inventory of medical and office supplies
  • Protect patient privacy by maintaining HIPAA compliance and safeguarding protected health information
  • Assist with cleaning and disinfecting exam rooms and common areas to maintain a safe, sanitary environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the needs of the practice

QualificationsPreferred Education

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred

Preferred Skills

  • Entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply—we are willing to train the right candidate
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) is preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine enjoyment of working with children and families

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, generally between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM

Professional Expectations

  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times
  • Navy scrubs and athletic or nursing shoes are required
  • Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and respectful communication with patients, families, and coworkers
