Position Summary: Our busy neurology clinic is looking to hire a highly motivated, skilled, and patient-focused nurse practitioner or physician assistant to work in our clinical setting.
Essential Job Functions: Provide medical care and treatment to patients, under prescribed guidelines and direction of physician. Performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, Botox and other injections, orders laboratory studies, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications. Contribute to excellent patient care. Provide direct clinical services. Compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Document findings noting pertinent normal and abnormal findings. Interpret and integrate data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan. Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients. Order, interpret, and evaluate appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs. Document patient preparation and response to procedure. Formulate and implement treatment plan for illness management. When appropriate, discuss case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan. Prescribe or recommend drugs or other forms of treatment. Document appropriately in patient’s medical record. Display willingness to make decisions; exhibit sound and accurate judgment; support and explain reasoning for decisions. Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality; apply feedback to improve performance. Monitor own work to ensure quality. Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Responds well to patient’s questions. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Successful completion of National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Must hold licensure/certification as required by the state of Utah and DEA number as well.
Hours: Part Time: 2 to 2.5 days a week
