Full Job Description

Position Title: Certified Medical Assistant

Location: Rockwall, TX

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports to: Office Manager

FLSA: Non-exempt

Hours Worked: Monday through Friday, with availability to work two Saturdays per month. Must be flexible to meet business needs.

Position Summary:

Seeking a detail oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with experience in personal injury and pain management to join our newly opened pain management center. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of chronic pain conditions, injury related care, and the documentation requirements associated with personal injury cases and traditional commercial health insurance carriers.

You will assist providers in delivering high-quality care, coordinate patient treatment plans, manage medical documentation and ensure accurate communication between patients, attorneys, and insurance representatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and prepare patients for exams and procedures related to pain management and personal injury cases.
  • Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, pain levels and current medications.
  • Assist providers with in-office procedures such as trigger point injections, joint injections and other pain management treatments.
  • Maintain and organize patient records including injury-related documentation, progress notes and diagnostic results.
  • Coordinate diagnostic imaging, referrals and follow-up appointments.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with legal and insurance requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, attorneys, insurance adjusters and case managers regarding medical records and treatment updates as permitted by HIPAA.
  • Administer medications and injections under provider supervision as allowed by the certification and state law.
  • Educate patients on prescribed treatments, therapy schedules and home care instructions.
  • Maintain clinical supplies and ensure examination rooms are fully stocked and sanitized.
  • Assist in practice quality improvement and compliance initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma, AS degree in a related field preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Medical Assistant Program.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a pain management or personal injury setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, EMR systems, billing and coding for injury related cases (CPT, ICD-10).

Compensation Range:

$18.00-$23.00 per hour (e.g. the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as location, education, experience and skillset.

Pay: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
