Neuropsychiatric Physician Assistant (PA)

Full Job Description

NeuroBridge is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Neuropsychiatric Physician Assistant (PA) to join our interdisciplinary outpatient neurological and behavioral health team. The PA will work collaboratively with the supervising physician and rehabilitation specialists to provide comprehensive care to patients with neurological and psychiatric conditions, as well as individuals seeking preventative neurological wellness services.

This role focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and managing patients in an outpatient clinic environment. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for both neurology and psychiatry patients and be committed to delivering patient-centered care through a collaborative, holistic approach to brain health and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive neurological and psychiatric histories and assessments.
• Evaluate and manage patients with neurological conditions including stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy, movement disorders, headache disorders, memory concerns, and other neurological diagnoses.
• Evaluate and manage patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, mood disorders, cognitive disorders, and other neuropsychiatric conditions.
• Develop differential diagnoses and treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.
• Prescribe and manage neurological and psychiatric medications in accordance with state regulations and physician supervision requirements.
• Monitor treatment effectiveness, medication adherence, and potential side effects.
• Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing, including laboratory studies, neuroimaging, and other assessments consistent with scope of practice and clinic protocols.
• Provide ongoing follow-up care and chronic disease management for neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions.
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and preventative brain health strategies.
• Coordinate care with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, mental health professionals, hyperbaric medicine providers, primary care physicians, and other specialists involved in the patient’s treatment plan.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support NeuroBridge’s mission of delivering exceptional patient experiences.
• Stay current with evidence-based practices in neurology, psychiatry, and neuropsychiatry.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current PA-C certification through the NCCPA.
• Current Texas Physician Assistant license, or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Current DEA registration, or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative care skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) or more years of clinical experience in neurology, psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, behavioral health, physical medicine and rehabilitation, internal medicine, family medicine, or a related specialty.
• Experience evaluating and treating patients with both neurological and psychiatric conditions.
• Experience managing psychotropic medications and developing behavioral health treatment plans.
• Experience working in an outpatient specialty clinic or interdisciplinary healthcare setting.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and specialty clinic workflows.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and behavioral health professionals.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, document accurately, and manage a diverse patient caseload.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care while contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Work Environment

• Primarily outpatient neurological specialty clinic setting.
• Limited evening or weekend responsibilities based on clinic needs.
• Collaborative environment alongside physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and administrative team members.

Benefits

• Health benefits effective the first day of the month following hire.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year
