Job Summary

Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate smooth intake processes while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Conduct preliminary assessments including measuring visual acuity, and performing basic ocular tests using optical and ophthalmic equipment.
- Assist with patient education by explaining procedures and answering questions about eye health and treatments.
- Prepare exam rooms by maintaining aseptic techniques, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for each appointment.
- Support the clinical team by managing electronic medical records (EMR systems), updating patient charts accurately, and documenting medical history using medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in medical office settings or clinic environments is highly preferred; familiarity with ophthalmology or optometry is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction, team collaboration, and patient care.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times; previous experience in medical coding or billing is advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail across multiple responsibilities including pediatrics when applicable.

Pay: $12.00 – $15.00 per hour
