Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

In collaboration with patients and staff across all disciplines and departments is responsible for providing healthcare services in the area of clinical specialization under the direction and responsibility of a physician.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES

  • Perform DOT physicals (certification required within 1 month of hire)
  • Perform physicals that include but not limited to pre-employment, fit for duty, medical surveillance, school, and sports related physicals.
  • Perform medical testing including but limited to TB tests, potential Herpes B exposures, blood draws, immunizations, vision tests, hearing tests, respirator fit tests, drug testing, and breath alcohol testing.
  • Perform physical assessment of patients using observation, inspection, auscultation, palpation and percussion.
  • Plan, promote, demonstrate, recommend and coordinate high standards of medical practice.
  • Compile patient medical data including health history, treatment plans, results of physical examination, etc., and record in electronic medical record.
  • Give on-site care and first aid.
  • Ongoing communication with the treating physician or other advanced practice clinicians regarding employee clinical status.
  • Ordering, interpreting and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic data.
  • Obtains and maintains accurate and complete medical records on employees and provide reports to management as applicable.
  • May perform First Aid, CPR, AED and other training as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Complete all mandatory training and maintain appropriate credentials/licensure.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Physician Assistants.
  • Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas.
  • Current certification in area of specialty.
  • Current TX DEA certificate
  • Current Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in relevant medical practices, protocol, trends and best practices in clinical areas assigned.
  • DOT Certified PA with experience in Occupational Health.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Sound decision making and organizational skills.
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information, results, and communications required
  • Proficiency in the use of a computer, software packages, and office machines.

Physical/Environmental

  • Constant sitting, standing and walking.
  • Frequent bending and reaching.
  • A medium to high level of manual dexterity required.
  • Normal accessibility and mobility throughout the CommUnityCare network required.
  • Extended work hours may be required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $63.00 – $68.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
