Full Job Description

We are a private Primary Care Medical office serving Knoxville and surrounding communities for over 20 years. We’re currently seeking a qualified Physician’s Assistant. Our family owned and operated business affords us a unique culture and work experience for the right candidate. We provide comprehensive healthcare service and are seeking a driven individual who is motivated by an incentive based compensation. As we desire the right and best fit for our family practice, we encourage candidates who may have limited experience to apply. The candidate will work with the practice Physician and other medical professionals to complete tasks but may work independently, consulting with the physician when necessary. Amongst your primary duties are examining patients, prescribing medicines, and ordering diagnostic tests. You will support the doctor and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The goal is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Objectives of this role

  • Provide high-quality medical services under supervision of a physician
  • Maintain high and ethical standards of patient care
  • Assist with short-term and long-term patient care issues
  • Recommend treatments, medicines, and therapies
  • Chart patient progress and maintain detailed, accurate health records
  • Lend support to the Physician, collaborating with the team as needed
  • Cultivate a safe, secure, and healthy environment for patients and colleagues
  • Understand the provider-to-patient flow maintaining an efficient, productive office
  • Develop and maintain relationships of confidence and trust with patients
  • Answer patient questions addressing concerns before, during, and after examination
  • Update and maintain electronic patient medical records accurately and securely

Physician Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Interviewing, examining, and diagnosing patients’ injuries and illnesses
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
  • Prescribing medications and suggesting lifestyle changes
  • Review and maintain patients’ medical histories, records and record progress
  • Providing documentation for insurance companies
  • Educating and counseling patients and their families
  • Researching latest treatments, innovations, advances, and trends in the medical industry
  • Perform physical examinations and elicit detailed, accurate patient histories
  • Determine patient conditions based on diagnostic imaging and test results
  • Formulate therapeutic plans and treatments, which may include prescriptions
  • Provide routine procedures such as immunizations, wound care and aspirations
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge via Continuing Medical Education credits
  • Protect patient confidentiality, maintain ethics, and abide by all applicable laws

Physician Assistant Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant education
  • A state license to practice medicine
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Detail oriented with good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent team working, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to treat patients with compassion and empathy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $93,778.84 – $112,937.95 per year
