Credentials

PAs in South Carolina are licensed by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners. South Carolina is not in the PA Licensure Compact, so a PA licensed elsewhere needs a South Carolina license. To prescribe controlled substances in South Carolina, a PA also needs a Controlled Substances Registration from the South Carolina Department of Public Health, Bureau of Drug Control, on top of DEA registration.
