Midlantic Urology, seeks an experienced Physician Assistant to fill an opening at our Media, PA location. The PA provides patient-centered, safe and effective care in a fast-paced environment. The position will focus on care of the urologic patient in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, working closely with a cohesive group of physicians assisting with consults, admissions and discharges, and rounds in the inpatient setting. In the outpatient setting, the physician extender will work closely with the same physician team and a nurse practitioner to see work-in patients, co-manage urologic conditions, and establish themselves in a growing outpatient practice and location.


Essential Job Functions/Competencies:

The PA will be responsible for evaluating patients in a practice setting, obtaining patient past medical history, ordering appropriate imaging, and interpreting tests.

Ability to read MRI’s, CT scans and imaging reports. Reviews charts, records and follows up on phone calls regarding preoperative and post operative care.

Must be able to effectively communicate with the physicians and other professionals regarding medical findings and patient treatment plans.

The PA will be able to assess and prioritize patient concerns and make a determination regarding patient care/treatment and safety in a prompt manner, and at times, must be able to explain complicated medical information and recommend treatment options to patients and their families. This information could include diagnosis, procedure(s) and other important information.


  • Must possess a thorough understanding of the operations of a physician practice, including clinical knowledge, patient experience, office and billing workflow, patient movement, medical coding and terminology.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of office, billing and clinical workflows, patient experience, scheduling, medical insurance, and billing as related to clinical practice.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess sound and proven presentation skills and be able to successfully present materials to diverse groups.
  • Must be a self- disciplined, highly motivated team player who has a sense of ownership, accountability and strong work ethic.
  • Must be process and detailed focused, be able to work autonomously as well as part of a group, and multi-task in challenging, sometime stressful situations.
  • Strong computer skills required.


2 years’ experience as a Physician Assistant or Board-Eligible Graduate preferred.

Urology experience preferred.

Education: 1. Master’s degree required. 2. Must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant program.

Licensures/Certifications: 1. Must be Certified (PA-C) or new graduate who is eligible for certification by the NCCPA (National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants). 2. Active license with Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure. 3. Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required. 4. ACLS certification is required. 5. Additional certifications specific to specialty may be required or preferred.

Possess the ability to interact with a variety of people at a variety of levels with excellent verbal and communication skills, strong customer service skills, understanding of how to prioritize, and the willingness to take on new challenges all while recognizing the needs of the practice/physicians/patients.
