Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Physician Assistant’s Supervising Physician or Designated Agent, provides medical and surgical services to patients of the Urgent Care Clinic(s). Ability to make responsible decisions within the scope of practice as a dependent medical practitioner.
Qualifications:
Education:
Requires Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of a physician assistant program accredited by any of the following accrediting bodies:
- Committee on Allied Health, Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association (CAHEA);
- Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP);
- Accreditation Review Commission on the Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
Experience:
Minimum two years direct patient management experience in related setting, strongly preferred. Requires knowledge of professional medical practice and care to provide/evaluate patient care. Requires skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of medicine to provide ongoing patient care. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbally and written. Requires proficiency with basic computer skills, knowledge of acute and chronic disease states, administration and prescription of medications, and delivering physical care following a treatment plan.

Licensure:
Current applicable state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant or ability to obtain licensure upon date of hire.
Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants.
Current certification dependent upon specific position to include Basic Life Support (BLS).
