Job Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant– Pain Management

About Us: Portland Pain Relief is a specialty pain management practice dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with acute and chronic pain. Our multidisciplinary team focuses on improving function, reducing pain, and enhancing quality of life through medication management, interventional procedures, and coordinated care.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and reliable Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in pain management or medication management and demonstrate excellent clinical judgment, patient communication, and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical history, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic results.
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans focused on pain management and functional improvement.
- Prescribe and manage controlled and non-controlled medications in accordance with federal, state, and clinic guidelines.
- Monitor patients for treatment response, side effects, and compliance with medication agreements.
- Perform medication reconciliations and coordinate care with other providers as needed.
- Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, procedures, and safe medication use.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in periodic chart reviews, staff meetings, and continuing education as required.
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Oregon.
- National Board Certification (AANP or ANCC).
- DEA license with appropriate schedules for pain management.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in pain management, medication management, or related specialty.
- Strong understanding of controlled substance regulations and compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in EHR documentation and basic computer skills.
Compensation:
- Competitive rate based on experience and encounter volume. Ranging: $70.00-$90.00 per hour DOE.
