Part-time Physician Assistant /Nurse Practitioner at a Fully Equipped Urgent Care and Occupational Health Center

Monroe Urgent Care and Occupational Health offers a large suite of services to our clients, including point-of-care testing, x-ray imaging and full occupational health needs, including teleradiology over-read capabilities. For our clinicians, we have a versatile and easy-to-use EMR, paired with an excellent electronic prescription platform. We also cover your medical malpractice with tail coverage, free of charge.
Highlights of position: part-time
- 8-10-hour shifts
- 1099 Contractor Status
Characteristics and skills desired of our new hire:
- Team player
- Willingness to go above and beyond to serve our walk-in patients and employees of local employer partners
- Ability to task switch efficiently between minor complaints such as rash, upper respiratory infection, muscle sprains and urinary tract infections, as well as moderate complaints such as abscesses and lacerations requiring drainage and repair.
- Splints for orthopedic injuries
- Start intravenous line for our vitamin infusion clients.
Daily tasks:
- Use EMR to place orders, document and discharge all ambulatory care patients
- Perform employer-based DOT and pre-employment physicals
- Perform medical evaluation on all walk-in patients
- Perform procedures such as laceration repair, abscess drainage, ingrown toenail removal and splinting
- Call back patients with sensitive or send-out test results
Required qualifications:
- Certified Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner-Certified
Physician Assistant-Certified / Nurse Practitioner-Certified
- Licensed to practice in Ohio
- Must be a DOT-certified FMCSA examiner, or willing to study for and pass the NRCME examination
- 2+ year experience in urgent care or emergency medicine mandatory
- Must work 1 to 2 weekends per month, depending on clinic’s need.
- Must be comfortable starting IV lines with our infusion clients
- BLS/ACLS/PALS certified
- DEA license is a plus, but not required
