Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physician Assistant specializing in Wound Care to join our innovative healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert wound management services across diverse settings, including assisted livings and private homes. Your expertise will drive improved patient outcomes through comprehensive wound assessment, advanced treatment modalities, and collaborative care coordination. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and detailed wound evaluations to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Perform advanced wound care procedures which may include debridement, dressing changes, and application of skin substitutes or dermal fillers.
  • Utilize(EHR)to document clinical findings, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately.
  • Manage acute pain effectively through medication administration, nerve blocks, or other modalities while ensuring optimal patient comfort.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and specialists in infectious disease care to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide follow-up care to expand access and improve patient engagement.
  • Educate patients on wound care techniques, medication regimens, lifestyle modifications, and health coaching strategies to promote healing and prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant with valid licensure in the practicing state.
  • Demonstrated experience in wound management.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced procedures like suturing, aseptic technique application, catheterization, etc.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for accurate documentation and billing processes.
  • Familiarity with clinical research protocols related to wound healing or infectious disease care is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology related to pain management and infection control practices.
