Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, with experience in various medical specialties, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. This role offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines to provide comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations, to determine health status and needs.
- Assist physicians in diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions across diverse specialties such as family medicine, emergency medicine, cardiology, dermatology, and more.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory results, medical imaging, and other relevant procedures to inform clinical decision-making.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans while ensuring adherence to best practices and clinical guidelines.
- Provide patient education on health management, medication administration, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals such as nurses, specialists, and administrative staff to coordinate patient care services.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards.
Skills
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or similar platforms for documentation and data management.
- Strong knowledge of medical imaging procedures and interpretation relevant to various specialties including radiology and diagnostic radiology.
- Experience in multiple clinical areas such as anesthesiology, gastroenterology, oncology, neurology, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), pulmonology, orthopedics, pathology, critical care, and others.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop effective care plans.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction as well as collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous.
- Prior post-residency experience in inpatient or outpatient settings; hospital or clinic experience preferred.
- Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes; knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards.
- Ability to manage airway emergencies, perform suturing procedures, and provide wound care when necessary.
- Experience with telehealth platforms for remote patient consultations; proficiency in medical terminology is essential.
