Part Time LOCUM Inpatient Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP)
Location: Newark, New Jersey

Position Type: Locum Tenens / Contract
We are hiring two experienced Cardiology Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants) to provide inpatient cardiology coverage. One APP for Part Time Coverage (M-F) from 0700 – 1200 daily, then done! And Another Part Time APP for Friday – Monday coverage, 2-3 weekends per month (see schedule below).
Providers will work collaboratively with the cardiology team managing inpatient consults, conducting patient evaluations, and supporting cardiovascular care services.
Position 1: Weekend Inpatient Cardiology Coverage (2-3 weekends per month)
Schedule:
- Friday: 10-hour shift
- Saturday: 11-hour shift
- Sunday: 11-hour shift
- Monday: 8-hour shift
- Coverage required twice monthly (2–3 weekend blocks per month)
- Additional coverage needed for all weekends in December, including Christmas and New Year’s holiday periods (1.5x hourly on the holidays!!)
Responsibilities:
- Provide inpatient cardiology consult services
- Perform patient assessments, follow-up evaluations, and treatment planning
- Coordinate care with attending cardiologists and hospital staff
- Manage a daily patient census of approximately 12–24 patients
Position 2: Stress Test Cardiology APP – Part TIME!! (25 hours weekly!!)
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Perform and monitor cardiac stress testing procedures
- Evaluate patient readiness and appropriateness for testing
- Document findings and communicate results with the cardiology team
- Ensure compliance with hospital and cardiology service protocols
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Active New Jersey license or ability to obtain
- Prior inpatient cardiology experience required
- Experience with cardiac stress testing preferred for Position 2
