Full Job Description

Overview:

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health we are looking to hire an experienced and insightful Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) who will be responsible for the general healthcare and wellbeing and addiction treatment of our patients.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) will work on a Full-Time basis out of Helio Health’s 65 bed OASAS licensed Inpatient Rehabilitation/Detox facility located in Syracuse, NY, providing medical examination/evaluations, order lab work and diagnostic testing, medically assess level of care, make appropriate medical referrals, and to assist staff in understanding patients’ medical issues and needs.
Pay Rate: $73.00-$85.00 per hour.
Working Relationships:
  • Works under the guidance of Program Administration and the Executive Medical Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care of medical examination and monitoring, implementation of medical orders.
  • Serve on special review and quality assurance committees as assigned.
  • Provide and document medical consultation, assessment, examination, treatment planning and review consistent with agency policy and requirements.
  • Other related assignments and duties consistent with training and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensed and currently registered by the New York State Education Department.
  • At least one year of experience in the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Must be able and willing to prescribe all available Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT) options.
  • Have prescriptive authority and DEA number.

Salary and hourly compensation ranges are provided in accordance with NYS law and are based on Helio Health’s good faith belief of what is accurate at the time of posting. Salary and hourly compensation offers are based on candidate’s education level and experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager and program.
