OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Part-time Chinese Speaking Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team for 1-2 days/week (must be available on Saturdays) with an emphasis on Musculoskeletal disease management (non-surgical Orthopedics). This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide comprehensive patient care in a dynamic clinical environment, utilizing your expertise while developing your clinical skills. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, experience with electronic health records, and the ability to communicate effectively in Chinese (preferably Cantonese). Prior experience in outpatient care is highly valued but not necessary, along with familiarity with EMR systems such as eClinical Works. This position emphasizes patient assessment and joint injections. We are willing to train the right candidate with a can-do attitude. The position requires availability on Saturdays (10 am-4pm) with some flexibility. Patient volume will not exceed 20 patients/day with an average patient volume of 15 patients/day.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and history taking
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties such as geriatrics, musculoskeletal medicine, orthopedics and neurolgic disease
- Administer injections, patient consultation and medication prescriptions (non-narcotic).
- Document clinical encounters accurately using EMR systems including eClinicalWorks.
- Coordinate diagnostic evaluations and interpret medical imaging results
- Provide patient education on health coaching, medication administration, and home exercises.
- Support triage activities and urgent care assessments for diverse patient populations
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols during all patient interactions
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists in outpatient settings such as Radiologist, Primary Care and Rheumatology.
Requirements
- Valid Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license with current certification
- Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) required for effective communication with patients
- Experience working in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics preferred
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
- Strong clinical skills or willingness to improve clinical skills including physical examinations, diagnostic evaluation, medication administration
- Familiarity with public health principles, infection control standards
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication in Chinese language setting
- Ability to work independently on Saturdays while collaborating effectively
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $75.00 per hour
