Responsibilities
New opportunity to work in an inpatient Obstetric environment. Will be a collaborative partner with an interdisciplinary team of faculty physicians and midwives in the care of and management of obstetric patients, managing admissions and discharges, laboring patients, postpartum patients and assisting with deliveries. This provider will be responsible for direct patient care, documentation of care delivered, adherence to hospital and nursing policies, procedures and standards, education of patients, staff, residents and students, assurance of service excellence, completion of state and hospital required reviews of practice and participation in performance improvement and other activities as required. Opportunities to learn newborn circumcision and Nexplanon insertion. Experienced APPs in OBGYN care required. New graduates should not apply. Requirement: NYS certification as an NP/CNM/PA Certification at the national level that permits the ability to bill for services. Excellent teamwork skills required. Certification in Fetal Monitoring required within 12 months of hire and ongoing documentation of competency in Fetal Monitoring required every 2 years. Qualifications: Nurse Practitioner/Certified Nurse Midwife: Requires a Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Physician Assistant: Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant.
Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner
Require a Master’s degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.
Physician Assistant
Requires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
