Job Description
University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join our Pulmonary Transplant practice at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. Join a team of excellent providers who deliver care for Pre- and Post-Lung Transplant recipients, and enjoy a 4-day work schedule.
In This Role, You Will:
  • Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of care to patients within a multidisciplinary framework caring for Pre- and Post-Lung Transplant patients on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
  • Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs.
  • Recommend treatment and prescribe medication.
  • Consult with physicians (as needed) and make appropriate referrals for evaluation or treatment.
  • Location: University of Minnesota Medical Center (50%) and the M Health Fairview Clinic and Surgery Center – Minneapolis (50%).
Your Schedule:
  • Full-time, 1.0 FTE
  • 10 hour days during a 4-day work week and every 5th weekend
We’re Looking For a PA or NP Who Is:
  • A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
  • Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
  • Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP’s).
  • Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

  • Practitioner with broad experience (4+ FTE years) preferably in an advanced specialty in a highly technical specialty working in a direct patient care role that uses advanced practice skills with above average patient satisfaction and consistently above average performance.
