About the Position

We are a growing multi-location multi-disciplinary organization seeking another confident, clinically strong Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our medical team.

This is not a traditional primary-care position. Our patient population is primarily musculoskeletal and pain-management focused, with a significant number of patients recovering from motor vehicle accidents.

The ideal provider is comfortable taking ownership of the patient’s medical care: evaluating the patient, developing an appropriate treatment plan, performing procedures when clinically indicated, prescribing appropriate non-narcotic medications, ordering diagnostic testing, making referrals, and documenting the medical necessity for the care provided.

Prior hands-on experience performing trigger point injections is REQUIRED.

We are specifically looking for a provider who is confident performing procedures and managing pain patients independently. Experience may come from pain management, PM&R, orthopedics, sports medicine, neurology, or another relevant clinical setting.

What You’ll Do

• Evaluate new and established patients with musculoskeletal and pain-related complaints
• Develop individualized treatment plans
• Perform trigger point injections
• Identify appropriate candidates for interventional treatment
• Prescribe and manage appropriate non-opioid/non-narcotic pain medications, including NSAIDs, muscle relaxants, topical medications, neuropathic pain medications, and other appropriate therapies
• Order diagnostic imaging and other testing when medically appropriate
• Review imaging reports and incorporate findings into treatment plans
• Refer patients to physical therapy, specialists, imaging facilities, and other appropriate providers
• Perform follow-up evaluations and modify treatment plans based on patient progress
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical documentation
• Clearly document diagnoses, medical necessity, treatment rationale, procedures performed, and patient response
• Work efficiently and independently within a busy clinical environment

This is a non-opioid/non-narcotic pain-management environment.

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure
• Prior hands-on experience performing trigger point injections
• Experience treating pain and/or musculoskeletal conditions
• Comfortable independently evaluating patients and developing treatment plans
• Comfortable prescribing appropriate non-narcotic pain-management medications
• Strong clinical decision-making skills
• Excellent medical documentation skills
• Ability to complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Comfortable working independently and managing a busy patient schedule
• Strong communication and patient-care skills

We are open to providers earlier in their careers if they already possess meaningful hands-on injection and pain-management experience.

Highly Preferred Experience

Experience in any of the following is a significant plus:

• Motor vehicle accident (MVA) patients
• Michigan auto/no-fault patients
• Personal injury medicine
• PRP injections
• Facet injections
• Joint or other musculoskeletal injections
• PM&R
• Orthopedics
• Sports medicine
• Interventional or non-interventional pain management

Our organization currently operates five locations and continues to grow. This provider will initially work at 2–3 locations in Dearborn, Warren, and Southfield, generally at one location per day.

For the right provider, we anticipate the opportunity growing into a full-time schedule very quickly…if desired.

Compensation

$65–$100 per hour, depending upon experience and qualifications.

Professional malpractice coverage is provided.

This is currently a 1099 independent contractor position.
