Physician Assistant – Best Fit Counseling & Psychiatry – Ketamine/Spravato Clinic. Pay: $60,000 – $240,000. Hybrid – Onsite NE Ann Arbor and Online

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate PA to join our team part time with the option to build to full time at our OP psychiatric practice and Spravato/ketamine clinic. Under the direction of our Program Director you will prescribe Spravato or ketamine to prescreened patients based on established, evidence based protocols. These services are provided onsite at our Ann Arbor office.This is an opportunity to learn and become a part of a program and process that is transforming psychiatry and patients’ lives. No prior experience with ketamine treatment or general psychiatry is required. We will provide supervision and training.

For most patients, Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT) will be more effective than any of the current psychiatric medications and treatments for depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use disorders… Hundreds of outcome studies document that from 50 – 80 % of patients will achieve at least a 50% improvement in their functioning.

Ketamine has been called “ the most important treatment for depression in the last 50 years” ) There are thousands of scientific studies over the last 30 years that document the safety and efficacy of KAT services. No prior experience with ketamine treatment

or general psychiatry is required. We will provide supervision and training.

We are an Ann Arbor based provider owned non corporate group practice based on over 40 years providing collaborative, evidence and measurement based care from highly experienced counseling and medical specialists

Pay: $60,000 – $240,000 As an Independent Contractor based on 10 to 40 billable hrs per week, license, hourly rate or fee split options. Sessions after 5 and weekends are paid at a higher rate. Our providers have determined they can make more as independent contractors buying their own benefits than they would as employees in most organizations.


Spravato/Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy Services are provided onsite and twice a week for the first month of care on Monday/Wednesday, Tuesday/Thursday, Friday Sunday shifts from 12- 5 pm and 5 – 8 pm. We may add 9 am – 12 pm shifts.

General Psychiatry Services are provided online based on your availability and agreed upon schedule.


  • Conduct thorough patient assessments prior to ketamine treatments based on established screening protocols,
  • Educate patients on the ketamine therapy process, potential side effects, and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Respond promptly to any emergent situations, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with medical and counseling staff to provide comprehensive, collaborative, evidence and measurement based patient care.
  • Maintains strict patient and employee confidentiality in compliance with BFC&P and HIPAA guidelines

Stay informed about current developments and research related to ketamine therapy.

  • Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan.
  • State of Michigan Controlled Substance License Required
  • Current DEA registration required
  • Satisfactory completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessor agencies, CAHEA or CAAHEP.
  • Certification: by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Credentialing: Currently on Blue Cross and other panels preferred, not required
  • Telehealth: Understand the efficacy and advantages of telehealth treatment for the right patients and environment based on your experience. You need a quiet, secure home or private office with reliable high speed internet, a laptop, tablet or desktop computer with a good camera and microphone, proficiency with hardware, software and the knowledge/skills to help clients to successfully connect with you online and to problem solve when there are issues.
  • Experience prescribing psychotropic medications
  • Demonstrated history of professional growth and development

Desired Qualifications and Competencies

  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • AHA approved ACLS and PALS certification
  • One or more years PA experience in a family practice, pain management, SUD, sleep disorders or psychiatry program
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clinical tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Flexible and able to work independently and with minimal guidance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively and respectfully deal with a diverse group of patients and staff
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with evidence of attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism, consideration and confidentiality towards others in stressful situations.
  • Detail-oriented and highly accountable
  • CPR certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
  • Experience using an EHR for documentation. We are currently using Osmind and Simple Practice
  • Familiarity with ketamine administration and its therapeutic applications is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
