Job Description
The University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center Cancer Institute, affiliated with The University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, is seeking an Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join it’s team in Towson, Maryland
- This APP will use advanced skill in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patient with hematologic and oncologic diseases and adverse health conditions.
- Collaborates with attending physicians to create and implement complex treatment plans. Team includes 4 physicians and two APPs.
- Provides anticipatory guidance, patient/family education, and psychosocial support to oncology patients
- Obtains health history, perform comprehensive exams, orders and interprets laboratory and radiologic studies
- Cares for individuals with new cancer diagnoses and in follow up before, during and after treatment
- Work collaboratively with the medical oncologists in management of patient’s cancer and complications or side effects of treatment.
- Participates in Multidisciplinary Tumor Board discussions

Qualifications
Education
- 4 year / Bachelor’s Degree: Physician Assistant (Required)
- Or MSN or DNP for Nurse Practitioner
- Master’s Degree (Preferred)
Certification / Licensure / Registration
- BLS Certification (Required)
- HCCPA Re-certification exam every six years (Required)
- Physician Assistant (Required) or Nurse Practitioner
- Registration from Maryland State Board of Physician Quality Assurance (Required)
Required Skills: Strong patient management experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as effective written and oral communication skills. Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
