Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Private Duty Nurse to provide personalized, high-quality nursing care to patients in their homes or private settings. Positions include day and night shifts. Duties
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care tailored to individual patient needs, including medication administration, wound care, and vital signs monitoring
- Perform thorough patient assessments to evaluate health status and develop personalized care plans
- Manage IV insertions, injections, and other invasive procedures with precision and safety
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Educate patients and family members on health management, medication usage, and post-discharge care instructions
- Respond promptly to emergency situations by utilizing CPR, AED operation, and first aid skills
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate ongoing patient care
Skills
- Proven experience in nursing for a minimum of one year.
- Extensive background in hospital medicine, emergency room settings, or urgent care facilities with acute care expertise preferred
- Specialized knowledge in infectious disease management, Geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), and medical-surgical nursing
- Proficiency in patient assessment techniques, physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and vital signs monitoring
- Skilled in IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, and injection techniques following strict safety protocols
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of medical records and clinical notes
- Strong understanding of the State Board of Nursing regulations and Nursing Practice Acts to ensure policy compliance
- Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely while maintaining patient comfort during transfers or mobility assistance
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules combined with excellent communication skills for effective patient interactions
