Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA), where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive mental health care across diverse patient populations.
This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, apply advanced clinical skills, and provide compassionate, patient-centered services in an outpatient clinic and on telehealth platforms. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes through innovative treatment approaches, medication management, and holistic care strategies.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including psychiatric evaluations, physical examinations, vital signs, and medical histories, to determine appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements, ensuring safe and effective pharmacological management.
- Provide behavioral health interventions, supportive therapy, and medication management tailored to individual patient needs.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks/Simple Practice for accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and medical records.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals across disciplines—including psychiatrists, primary care providers, social workers, and specialists—to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Manage subacute and chronic mental health care situations as necessary.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives to advance psychiatric practices and participate in quality improvement projects aligned with regulatory standards.
- Provide telehealth services utilizing HIPAA-compliant platforms to extend access to mental health and medical services remotely.
- Educate patients on health coaching topics such as nutrition, medication adherence, chronic disease management (including diabetes or cardiovascular conditions), and lifestyle modifications.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in behavioral health or psychiatry settings; experience with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation and order entry.
- Background in mental health management
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation tools, including ICD coding and CPT coding for procedures, is desired.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and medical terminology to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Experience working within collaborative practice models under state-specific regulations to prescribe medications safely while adhering to DEA regulations.
- Skills in case management for diverse populations such as seniors in memory or assisted living facilities; individuals with developmental disabilities; or those requiring post-acute care planning.

Pay: $85,000.00 – $153,000.00 per year
